Senior Help Desk Technician

Description

The Senior Help Desk Technician will join our team in supporting the US Army Reserve, 9th Mission Support Command which provides Enterprise IT services to include the repair, maintenance, procurement, logistics, and engineering services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of all Enterprise IT Systems throughout the Pacific. Primary location will be Ft. Shafter, Hawaii.

  • Supervise the Helpdesk support staff by defining and establishing schedules, setting priorities, providing support/direction and dealing with administrative issues as needed.
  • Gather and analyze metrics to measure the helpdesk workload/performance based on benchmarks set by DoD Army Metrics and the support contract.
  • Train helpdesk staff on operational procedures and troubleshooting techniques. Provide training on new hardware and/or software applications as requested.
  • Provide Tier I and II IT troubleshooting services such as, maintaining, installing, repairing and modifying computers/mobile devices (UNCLASSIFIED/CLASSIFIED Networks) and their associated business software.
  • Life Cycle Replacement support services (configuration/imaging, distribution and installation)
  • Customer support for Audio Visual and Video Teleconferencing equipment and services.
  • Documenting incident status in incident database tools i.e. Remedy
  • Provide weekend IT support services as requested by customer.
  • Education and Experience

    • Must meet all DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements to include active CompTIA Security+ Certification.
    • Must possess an active Secret Clearance.
    • Required Skills

      • 8+ years of experience providing IT support services, troubleshooting both hardware and software, utilizing tiered Help Desk approach, work ticket tracking solutions (Altiris Help Desk, Remedy).
      • Management experience ensuring support services are being met as stated in the contracts service level agreement.
      • Must be experienced with Active Directory, Operating System delivery methods (Altiris Deployment Solution, SCCM, Ghost, etc.), strong troubleshooting skills/techniques in an IT Service Desk environment.
      • Candidate must have good working knowledge of Windows 7/10 and MS Office. Need to have background in networking concepts to include TCP/IP, DHCP, VLAN, DNS and other common networking business practices
      • Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
      • Must be able to work weekends and may be required to travel upon customer requests.
      • Desired Skills

      • Experience in DISA, USARPAC, and USARC IT Tiered support Services is preferred
      • Extensive knowledge of Altiris Help desk Solution, Altiris Deployment Solution, and Altiris Software Delivery
